Default Crisis suits and ion cannons?

Recently while assembling my Shas'o R'ymr, I used his extra pieces to make another Crisis suit and filled in the missing pieces with clay and added new shoulders and a different ear piece (the communication pieces on the side of their helmets) i picked up an ion cannon and placed it slightly elevated on the suits jet pack and allowed it to swivel over his head. I thought that would be pretty fearsome and wondered what anyone else thinks.

Of course he would have different rules like, he cant use his jet back in the assault phase if he decides to shoot since its so massive in respects to him. And staying in tune with the size of the weapon, he is knocked back an inch or 2 when he shoots due to recoil. And also due to the leviathan weapon placed on him he cannot carry anything else and is only allotted one more slot to fill (and the single hard wired piece)? Any input? criticism? Additions? insults?

If you are looking for rules for him this should really be in house rules.

I think I know what he might look like, sounds like a good conversion. But I think it might be better with a twin-linked one on a Broadside, a bit like the PR upgrade, but replacing the Railgun. *Face lights up as he realizes what a cool idea that is*

Can we see some pics?

Edit: I just realized that an ion weapon has almost zero recoil, so your recoil rule is a not...wait, do I sound like Wargamer?

I'll try and get some pics up soon.
The Suit is primed and the cannon is bare so ill do my best to make sure you can really see what it looks like.
I know what you mean with the broadside and tthat does sound better.
And i never knew that about the ion cannon, thanks for the help.
I might paint the suit before i post pictures to better represent him and the cannon.
If only my mate was home since my camera is broken =/

Pretty easy enough thing to houserule...

Broadside: 1 ion cannon instead of twinlinked railguns.

Hell given the price differential you'd probably have to drop the Ionside's cost by 10 or so (sure the 88 rails can't use submunition, but they ARE twinlinked, and ion cannon's so cheap for a tank...)

Ionside, how cool does that sound, i wonder if it would be possible to scale down the ion cannon?
Personally, I just used the spare ion cannon from my Hammerhead sprue and stuck some Devilfish pilots to it, i'll upload some pictures.

I think its a bit unfluffy. Cool to have a sort of artillery team, but thats why we have big robots and tanks

Still, I like the idea, maybe lift it off the ground with some sort of base? Take a look at the IG/SM to see a few artillery ideas. Looks good besides that.
