Default Gue'vesa rule question

Which rule set do you guys use for Gue'vesa? My friend and I are planning a campaign and were thinking of implementing some good ol' Tau lovin' Guard.

I use the Gue'vesa rules on GW's website they released for 4th ed. I have the PDF on my computer still, but I think that GW locked the PDF from being downloaded or hid the web-page so you can't see it anymore. Otherwise there are old rule in the Talos Capeign (IA3) book, but those are slightly different and from 3rd ed.

I know that there was a fan made Gue'vesa Codex that was excellent but I lost the source due to my Desktop PC dieing on me. Though I am sure that there are others here that know that which I speak of and can direct you there if they so choose... or if you ask really nicely.

Good luck too!

There was lots of good stuff like that on the website until they made the new one. Now such goodies seem to have been wiped out.

I think that the Gue'vesa had IG stats, lasguns, and the option to take up to 2 pulse rifles/carbines, a markerlight for the squad leader and option to take EMP grenades. However I'm not certain.

You could always make up house rules for them...

That's about right. And about as much as we can say without breaking the forum rule on IP material.

If you have access to a witchhunters army codex you can use the rules for traitor units to represent them.

They wouldn't be very Tau-like though, would they?

I was mostly just listing a unit of guardlike people that can be put in the tau army in friendly games if he can't get access to the Aux. rules. Now since these rules are too show human traitors that have left the imperium and joined another army I'd say that they would make good sense to use as a group of humans that joined the tau army. As far as making them Tau-like that would be a matter of conversion and painting.

What would really be interesting is if Gue'vesa could use their Leman Russes and Hellhounds and Baneblades and Shadowswords and Valkyries for the Greater Good.

What? What's wrong?

Tau can has cheezeburger too, dammit! >
