Default recut suit sprue idea

we know GW is (trying) to come out with new models for each codex as they update it, what are the chances they recut the suit sprue like the FW ones, where the lower leg is separate so its easier to pose? and while they are at it would they recut the arms so they are two pieces also? this is just an idea i would like to see but what do you guys think about it?

Unlikely, remaking a sprue is a very costly procedure. This is actually good for us, as it forces GW to sell the hammerhead parts with the skyray set.

I'd hope that they do more than a recut and just redesign the damn thing. Seriously, I hate the look of the XV8, and the Forge World ones aren't much better (since someone always has to speak up and say "What about the Forge World ones, go look at those!"...I've seen them, they're better, but it's still mostly the same blocky, toyish design).

It's not even really the blockiness that bugs me, it's just the stupid head and arms and single piece legs which don't allow for any other pose but "standing straight up like a dork". I love Cirillo's designs and wish they'd go with those next time.

head conversions arnt that hard, they probably wont redesign the suit at all, maby come out with a new one that is sleeker, if they do that you could just use them though

Redesigning the suit would annoy me because I like to have all my units look the same (not pose wise but equipment wise). If they changed the suits I would have to buy a whole bunch more. Making them more poseable though would be great. They are very limited at the moment.

Which is why I think GW would be stupid not to. Everyone would buy more. I'd replace all of mine and maybe buy enough to do a Farsight themed army on the side, too.

It's not too hard to bend the knees on a crisis suit. I've converted a few of mine for some more variety in postures. I'm really OK with the crisis suit models; I just want the new improved codex!

I don't know why everyone keeps saying that. The issue isn't how hard it is to convert, it's the fact that you need to in the first place. No it's not hard to bend the knees, but it's also not too hard for GW to just make a new one with two-piece legs, either. No it's not hard to convert the heads, but why should the head look so damn stupid in the first place?

Once again, it's not that it's "too hard" for me, I just don't like the look of the model period.

I have seen this name in several tau conversion/modeling forums I troll and was wondering who is this Cirillo person? trying to search him on the web yields nothing.

And personally I wouldn't mind a recut Crisis Suit Sprue, but Half of the fun I do get from this game is converting my models, so a new sprue cast may take away some of my challenge!

Roberto Cirillo is an artist that worked on Tau concept art for the last codex. Here's a link to ATT where you can see some of his work.
