Default when did 5th edition come out?

Hey guys,

Another quick question. When did 5th edition come out? I am assuming that is what I got since I got into the hobby in Jan with the AoBR set and then everything after that. It appears that it did change many rules and how to play effectively with a unit etc.

The reason I ask is because I have been reading back through the forum (especially since the search fucntion is down) and now on page 15 and wanting to know where the cut is for some of the tactics changes etc. This way I know how far back to read or when to discount some older posts.

Thanks
S.M.

Well actually, I got my advance order copy before the official date.

But I believe that that is the date on which it was available in stores.

True, advanced order arrived during that week, a few days ahead of the official store launch.

That's really weird 'cause from what I've just read on both wikipedia and Lexicanum (http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Codex) the only army with a 5th edition codex is Space Marines?

That is the old pain of GW, they lack the ability to keep the armies updated to the latest rules. Except for the Space Marines, of course.

Actually Chaos, Eldar, and Orks were all designed with 5th edition in mind. You can tell by the streamlining of some abilities and some other minor points.
