Default Twin-Linked Railgun Submunition

This is a question I'm pretty sure I know the answer to, but I'm going to post it anyway (just to verify). I won't dare ask the people at my GW.

Twin-Linked Submunition releases a 5" Blast in 40k. If I fail to hit my desired target, that means I miss it - the blast goes wherever it goes. But if I fail to wound, I can re-roll.

Is that correct?

I'm pretty sure it is, but the 40k rulebook never referred the blasts to as "templates", and some of my 40k friends are key word specific.

How in the name of God, can you get twin-linked submunition

Submuniton is only available to hammerhead. And Hammerhead does not have the option to have twin-link railgun.

Um, what?

There is NO T-L submunition for the Tau; the Hammerhead RG is a one-shot, single-shot weapon. The Broadsides, with T-L RG, get no submunition option in the first place.

And come to think of it, I'm not sure any race has any T-L blast of any sort.

As far as I know, a twin-linked blast still gets a re-roll for your to-hit, as it is a blast weapon, not a template weapon, which re-roll to wound on twin linking. Template refers to the flamer teardrop, blast refers to the round blast templates.

Getting a twin-linked heavy railgun (my bad - sorry) is possible. That's what I meant.

At first, I thought that too, but I can't imagine how TL would work there (in fact, I'm not sure I can even imagine how TL works...).

Actually, while we're on the subject, there is one Tau thing with a twin-linked regular railgun:

the area denial node, although admittedly, the rules were only printed in White Dwarf.

@Tausand Sun.

He's talking about the Heavy railgun found on Flyer (I think). Not regular railgun found on broadside/hammerhead.

and, no offence, but your post isn't very constructive or helpful.
