You need to mod them. Cut at the joint, file, glue. Normal suits come with almost straight legs and arms bent at 90 degrees.

For some poses, you could have it crouching on one knee or whatever. Use your imagination.

Frank:

This is more of a modeling question, perhaps those boys in that board can give you better and faster tips regarding that?
Also, browse our own showcase and conversions boards for Crisis Suits.

Another option would be to check big miniature specialist sights, like Coolminiornot.com and searching Crisis Suits and then just clicking through the many pages of models.

Cheers!

I never use the plastic flight stands if going for an airborn look. They just don't allow for any dynamics in the positioning of the model. I use brass wire (painted black) for 'jumping' models. You also have to cut and reposition the legs to get the right look as well. I also like to remodel the arms to make the 'aim' their weapons.

Firstly, i convert the weapons of my suits. mine dont attach them to the side of the arm stubs, I've glued them on to the top of the arm, like the way a proper gun is held.
So, i have one crisis suit with a hole filed in his belly, and i stick a flying pole into that. So, he is modelled as though he's flying along.
My shas'el is walking through the rubble. I chopped part of the ruined building scenery thing and stuck it on his base. A few loose space marine accessories were scrounged (chest, helmet, shoulder plate, left arm, left leg, groin) filed down where necessary and painted and modelled as though my shas'el was crushing an offensive blood angel into the dirt beneath his feet.
My other suits are in a standard hovering pose, or put into a more dynamic hoverring pose. I've no digi-cam so no pics Im afraid!

None can step before them, they are the first, proud in their strength and jealous of their renown. Through the storms of the warp they come, upon the very tides of terror, but of such dangers they are uncaring. They are the Space Wolves, the Undefeated, the bane of the Emperor's foes."

I've used extra bits and peices on my first few crisis suits as I got them prior to my current "Mod the living (and dead) hell out of every plastic that touches my hands" phase. My small pair of cents for this topic is that Lizardman Saurus shoulder armour fits exceptionally well on various parts of the suit, and that the role should influence the pose. A close quater crisis peering at a far off target and a long-range missile bombardment suit with weapons pointed at point blank lack flavour.

wire is best IMO, because the figure is poseable not stuck in one spot, my crisis are gonna be mounted on wire so they can stand or hover.
