Would anyone from this Sage oracle of Tau Tactical knowledge use an IOnhead for monster critter control rather than 2 Broads ??? Keep in mind that the other 2 heavy slots in my 2K army are filled with Rail heads.
I have been upon the 5th ed. mount and I have seen the Pie plate magic that spews forth from the Rail head whilst battling a horde. For this reason I'm keeping the Railheads but I would like to see if anyone thinks that a BS4 IOnhead might possibly work out better than 2 Broads for monsters. I realize that this may have been covered before so I'll apologize in advance for asking this question.

Hmm... I think so b/c the ionhead is less expensive initially and can be equipped with other useful things, i.e. Seeker missiles.
I also think i would draw less attention on the battle field as everyone seems to love killing things with rail guns. |

The Ion cannon doesn't have the strength, I've learned this yesterday. The STR 7 just doesn't really cut it. You're more likely to put a wound on the bloody thing with STR 10 and at least the broadside is twinlinked so you should hit. I'm putting one in my 1500 list agianst Chaos (he's got demons that tear up my front line)
