MEQ = Marine equivalent. Toughness 4 & a 3+ armour save.
TEQ = Terminator equivalent. Toughness 4 & a 2+ armour save.

There's also GEQ & some others, but you can probably guess what they'd be now.

I was like you, until this morning, when a good soul gives me the translation..

MEQ and TEQ see above..
GEQ Guard equivalent.. and even SEQ for storm trooper equivalent (fire warrior, and carapaced soldiers...)

MEQ = Marine EQuivilant, primarly T4 and a 3+ save
TEQ = Terminator EQuivilant, primarily T4 and a 2+ save
GEK = Guard EQuivilant, Primarily T3 and a 5+ save
and i would of thought T3 and 4+ save would be FEQ, Fire warrior Equivilant. I have never heard of SEQ before.

Maybe SeQ should be used for Sister Equivalent, T3 Sv.+3.

Sisters are really it though, its not like MEQ & TEQ which can span 3 armies.

I've heard Tau EQ, but the others work.

If you are dealing with something other than a GEQ, MEQ, or TEQ, don't just give a cryptic abbreviation. The fact is, anything else isn't going to be found in sufficient number to need to even consider - unless you a writing a dedicated tactica, and if you are writing a dedicated tactica, spell things out. "Hey, this is called How to Kill Sisters of Battle. First of, anything good on MEQs is good for sisters, because their lower toughness = mad lulz to be had by all."

Of course, this is all from the MechTau Manual of Style, and you can go around spitting gobbledegook around the forums should you choose.
