Default Skimmers/Jump Inf and Difficult Terrain

Guys, this came up this sunday (my first 5th game and first game seince I started back). At the new store where I am starting to play, we use hexagonal foam blocks for terrain and stack it. We agreed that they were "hills" and count as difficult terrain. I know if a skimmer or jump infantry take end (and take off?) in difficult terrain, they must take a dangerious terrain test. Is this true if it is something like a hill, or does that only apply to forests/jungle/etc?

I have lots of other questions, but it's too early for me to remember them right now, haha.

Thanks for any help!

If it counts as difficult, it can be dangerous for a skimmer.

This is why some people use sensor spines - an option I'm increasingly considering.

Sensor Spines. Never leave home with out them. Allows you avoid the effects of Dangerous terrain. Got to love that.

As for suits, walk into the terrain if you must go in. You will not get far, but jumping means you might smack a tree. Personally, it's only a wound, so why wouldn't I jump into there?

Are hills normally difficult terrain on top? Seems rather extreme.

No. What I am saying is that my Air Support has lots of Ground Cadre.

If a Land Raider dies to a rail gun, and no one was around to see it, does the kill point still exist?

Yeah, if its agreed to. I usually play hills as difficult terrain myself. I think the main rule of thumb is that if its immovable and blocks line of sight, generally treat as difficult.

That is how it is normally played, but I am so far, the only player in the "regular" group that uses skimmers or much of anything for Jump troops, so these problems have never came up before. I will leave it at what it is then. This makes the sensor splines look real good though, then agian, my devil fish is getting costly, haha.
