Default Decoy Launchers in the 5th ed.

Just wondering, but what is the point of decoy launchers in the new 5th edition? Since there is no "Glancing Hit Table" in the new edition how would this work if at all? Would it be something like if you got an immobilized result after getting a glancing hit than you can force your opponent to re-roll his result with the -2 that the new system applies on the vehicle damage table after a glancing hit? Please clarify this for me. ???

But Isn't it funny to think that guard might be able to copy eldar tactics slightly?
You mean "Perform Eldar tactics better than Eldar", right? :P
Not unless the Eldar have an obscure Warrior Aspect that revolves around the complete mastery of the common light bulb.

No offence, but a quick search would have answered this quickly. Ander asked the same question Tuesday Oct 21st: http://forums.tauonline.org/index.php?topic=73836.0

It's only on page 2.

Well it's not a waste of time per say...and I didn't mean it in a negative way.

Simply that a lot of question gets asked and answered here, sometimes a quick search before hand can get you your answer more quickly...then if you don't get it you can post or expend on it.

Ok, thanks. I didn't take it negitively so you don't need to apologise. I am new here so I didn't really think of searching before restating a question on the forums. Thanks for your advice though.

Just making sure that my fiendly advise...although a bit brusque I must admit, wasn't taken badly. I sure you, as a new member, can bring a lot to this fun forum...didn,t want you to run fleeing thinking we were all rude persons.

Just another bit of friendly advice. Dont waste your time with Decoy launchers. They're actually not worth the 5 points. Being immobilized on a glancing hit is the LEAST likely thing to happen mathematically speaking. I've been playing 5th edition since just before it was released in June and I still have yet to have a vehicle immobilized by a glancing hit. Also, since our vehicles dont die from being immobilized anymore it's really not that big a deal.

MAYBE you'll wanna take it on your devilfish but on the hammerheads dont waste the points. You might be better suited taking sensor spines so that you can ignore dangerous terrain.
