I thought on of the ideas floating around was Assult 2 @ 18" and Assult 1 @ 24. So you can choose extra range at expense of a shot or get 2 shots of at 18. This of course means the Pulse Carbine would be better than a bolter in every respect so it would be cried cheese and moaned about... the question is how would yu fit Pinning into it :-\ hmm.

Personally I think you should try it out n real people on diffrent boards.

That's why I suggested everyone one else help out, I only have a single board and only my GF to play against. So any volunteers?

Hope. This is not a plan. This is not a solution. It is reaction.

ok, so we did a 1500 pt game tau vs iyanden eldar with the bs 4, and another run at making pulse rifles H2 30 instead of bs 4. Of the two options, both of us agreed that H2 30" was a much more fun option. It gave a good incentive to finally start taking a squad with pulse carbines instead of all rifles. Whereas the bs 4 didn't affect weapon choices at all.

I would take an assault 2 18" Str 5 Ap 5 weapon in an instant

If it pinned, all the better!

[hr]

Making a unit better at something they already do - like upping the BS of a shooty squad - only makes them better. It doesn't do anything particularly interesting.

It does, however, make the upgrades much better - BS 4 markerlights are a boon!

I would love to see a way to pay 2 points per model and have all of my Shas be "veteran" Fire Warriors.

This is pretty much along the lines i've been going with. I just ran a 1000 pt tau vs salamanders. It was a total victory for the Marines. My pulse rifles failed to knock out 2 razorbacks that popped smoke. Then the heavy flamers kicked in. I'd say more research needed! The BS 4 just seemed too much last time, where as the H2 seemed more fair. same number of shots all the way in is very nice.

I'll see if I can convince any mates for some research games.

So far nobody wants to experiment with anything, outside of Apoc (which isn't my preferred method of play).

I don't. I haven't been too keen on it from what I've heard though with all the different TLOS problems people have been whining about.
I might get it later though.
I do have one question about it. Is there a BFG mod? Because I haven't gotten the responses around here that I wanted for that game. I haven't gotten to play it as much as I wanted once I learned the basics.

Get on MSN and I'll send you the Gothic mod.

Anyway, I've never had ANY problems with TLOS on Vassal. You just need to talk with your opponent pre-game to decide how the terrain works. Two minutes tops.

-_-'''

I don't have MSN or any sort of chatting system.

E-mail is pretty much the only communication I personally deal with.

I can give you that if it'll work. Will I need Vassal and the mod? Or is it in the mod itself?
