Default auxillary gue'vesa units

are gue'vesas still legal to play?

how do i make them? do i just take bitz from other models and put them together?

where do i find their stat line and information?

im just looking to diversify my tau army as i feel like our choice of different models are pretty limited compared to most other races.

Yes and No.

Generally speaking, Chapter Approuved stuff isn't legal anymore. That being said some tournement will allow some of the old CA stuff (Like Kroot mercenaries) and of course amongst friend Gue'vesa is still ok if your friends doesn't mind.

On the other hand, the rules for Gue'vesa were reprinted in IA3, so you might be able to weasel them in thanks to that.

To make them just use standard Imperial guard troopers and add a few Tau Fire warriors bit like the soulder pad or the back pack.

The stats line is the same as the Imperial guards except that the sqaud is not 6-12 and each models cost as much as a kroot hound. You might still be able ot find the rules for them somewhere on the GW website by typing "Human auxiliaries" in the search engine.

Hope it helps.

I was under the impression that all Chapter Approved was replaced by the Apocalypse Datasheets, like the Kroot Mercs, Armored Company, etc.

Could be. But it's kind of pointless if you don't play Apocalypse though.

@Steck, I don't think it's going ot be a problem, since it's the one you would find on the GW webby if they had not change things around.

Also if its just apoc size games your gonna play with your combined Tau and IG then you could use any IG units and just Tau em up a little. Also in IA 3 there are mining units which dont only have humans but an Ogyrn too . They could be kind of fun to make.

While on this subject, can you make Gue'la using Tau torsos and the rest Cadians?

Yes, you can. And in fact, that's what most people do (Or that's how the article I have says to do it).

Ok, thanks.
As far as I know, Gue'la are still legal (according to a GW store attendant), so that's a plus ^-^

Right and wrong. (But mostly right)

Guve'vesa'la are X points each, but Gue'vesa'ui are X +10. Gue'vesa'ui=Fire Warrior Shas'ui...+1 attack, +1 leadership

Also, up two squad members may be given pulse rifles or carbines for the same cost as EMP grenades each, and all models may take EMP grenades for the same cost Tau can take them. Shas'ui may be given a markerlight at the same cost as a FW shas'ui.

Special Rules:

(I forgot the name of it, but it isn't good)
Any Imperial unit in combat with a squad of Gue'vesa always hit them on a 3+, but the Gue'vesa use their WS to determine what they need to hit. This is because although the Gue'vesa bear no ill will towards their Imperial brethren, those same Imperial brethren see them as traitors.

No points costs. –RZ
