Default the Gue'vesa

i was woundering, where to the Gue'vesa come into play in tau socity? are they accepted, are they shunded and treated as meat sheilds? what would the role of a Human be in the fire cast... and can they advance past the 'ui stage? could they ever lead troops other than Humans? i was just thinking of what it would be like to be in the warhammer 40k world and every other race i could never begin to think i could mantain sanity, the tau seem at peace even with all of the war around them and are not openly aggresive to a new race.

The Humans, as are all races within the Greater Good, are treated as the Tau themselves are treated. They are only called Gue'Vesa because they are helping the Tau as individual people not as an entire race.

they are part of the tau empire, and are equal to any other member, except for an etherial. THey are not treated as meatshields. As part of the empire, they are expected to pefrform their duties, including combat, but should they not desire it, they will not be placed fighting against Imperial humans. At first they the tau built obeservation posts around the human colonies to watch them (hey, look at the damage they caused during damocles!) but right now, they are an accepted part of the tau empire.

None can step before them, they are the first, proud in their strength and jealous of their renown. Through the storms of the warp they come, upon the very tides of terror, but of such dangers they are uncaring. They are the Space Wolves, the Undefeated, the bane of the Emperor's foes."

And humans do not work inside fire warrior structures, or as part of any other caste. They have their own society with equivalent of TAU castes. They are rart of TAU empire, they are respected but thy live as thy want so thay have their own society structure.

This is very interesting. Do you think it would ever be possible for a human to be a true part of Tau society? As in be allowed to be bonded? Give up everything for the race? Maybe even bond with a Tau team?

they can even worship the emperor if they so wish (the tau respect belief systems apparently) however they must still work towards the greater good

I think that as long as they hail the Emperor, they`ll never be accepted into society on personal basis, it would take some serious integration! ^-^

Mmn, as long as they respect the Etherials and work for the Greater Good, I don't think it would be a problem...

Respect doesn`t really cut it, if they have sympathy to the empire, they have sympathy to the emperor`s followers, and they won`t fight whole-heartedly for Tau`va. Also because they were born under the empire, they`ll feel at home most on terra.

Maybe the aun can override that instinct, but I doubt it... :-\

It depends on how the planet they live on has done in the empire I guess... if they've prospered I'm sure they'll do thier best for the empire... However if the time has been bad then they'll want the iron hand of the imperium... however I know which I'd choose!!
