Default Poorly made Tau legs

Has anyone noticed how poorly the majority of the firewarrior legs are made? I find it very difficult to get a good segmented armor look with them. Anyone have any tips on how to fix this problem. Is there a place we can go to complain about this defect?

On the subject of models why are the battlesuits so ''blocky'' when the rest of the Tau vehicles/ architecture are rounded with smooth lines? I saw a Iron Man ''Hulk Buster'' toy earlier and thought to myself thats what the Broadsides should look like.

I've noticed it, but it doesn't really bother me too much. I just Run black through the Recesses before I start Applying my Armor Color. It's a bit Difficult and eats up some time but It results in a pretty nice model. Sometimes I end up loosing the Crack in between the Plates, so I sometimes end up freehanding it with good success. (They're not Deep enough, IMO)

Yeah, I was kinda wondering about the Battlesuits too. The Stealthsuits look fine, but the Crisis and Broadsides are odd, and It's the Reason why I only got 2 Crisis Suits and a Commander.

If you've got the Money for Resin then you could always get Some of the Other variations of Crisis Suits from Forgeworld. They've got some Exotic Models that look a bit odd, but they're not as blocky. I kinda Like the XV89 myself.

The only problem with this is that the Forgeworld X-8 variants can only be taken as 'El or 'O...in short they are commander suits only.

But it is true that their posable arms and legs make them nicer.

Fixed your qoute. –RZ

Really?!? That's news to me. Where is that written? I thought a suit was a suit. Makes sense for your comander to have a fancier suit than the others, but I would allow an opponent to use a FW suit as a regular XV-8, as long as the weapon choices were legal.

Yep really.

Look up the XV-8 variant bit in your IA3...it is clearly state that it's only for 'El and 'Os...I'm a work so I cannot type the exact bit though.

But yeah you can always house rule differnetly.

@SGS

I just recheck my IA3 and under the heading for the XV-8 variants on page 174 ot states that "Only the 'El or 'O of the commander team can take the personalized variant" further more each variant is a 0-1 unit...so only you could not have 2 XV-81 or 2 XV-84 or 2 XV-89..unless you housrule it.

but you could use this one as a normal suit (just because it says it has heaver Armour dosnt mean you have to play it that way)

or you could use this one and convert the sides a bit to work better

I've always fancied running all of the non-commander suits in my cadre using the FW XV-9 because they look cool, and I will never use the actual XV-9 anyway. But, the expense! The expense!!! :'(

... it would be fun, but it costs to much and it makes the normal broadsides look wierd (not a bad thing though) and then i would need to buy a commander one (or 2) ;D
