Skyrays can only fire on markerlight when they move 12" right?

So yeah, just checking skyrays can only fire 1 of their markerlights when they move 12" right? 'Cause you can only fire 1 main weapon and 1 defensive weapon. The markerlights are 2 weapons so you can fire 1 markerlight and, presumably, your SMS if it moves more than 6" right? Lemme know.

No, if moving 12" they cannot fire any weapons,

Unless they are equipped with a multi-tracker, in which case all markerlights and the SMS can be fired(SMS is an offensive weapon, markerlights are defensive)

Markerlights are considered defensive weapons due to them not being above str:4. Str:5 weapons are considered main weapons.

Still gets me that a lone Pulse Rifle stuck on top of a tank is considered a main weapon.

Yeah, that's because Tau don't make the rules. All of those technological bumblers are in charge as far as that's concerned.

Without a MT, 12" they can't fire anything. With a MT, at 12" they fire 1 main weapon and all defensive weapons, just like moving 6" without a MT.

So the Skyray can fire the SMS on top of the lights at 12", and is the only Tau tank in 5E to do so without changing its 4E loadout.

Ah, my bad. Well I assumed in this that the vehicle is armed with a multi-tracker. Also, I didn't realize it was ALL defensive weapons and not just 1. My bad. Thanks guys. I didn't have my rulebook handy when I posted.

If I'm not wrong, the only thing the Skyray comes equipped with is the target lock. But, its always worth burning some points on the multi-tracker and target array along with some of other toys.

Yeah MTs are so ubiquitious they might as well build it into the tank, cost and all. :P Also, if it has a TA, give it a TL, and vice versa. I've only skimped on either when its with Fishes and Piranha.

Y'know I was kinda thinkin' the same thing. Or they could just do us all a favor and make Devilfish fast vehicles. I dont think it would be game breaking at all. Make them 10 points more and make them fast but leave Hammerheads and Skyrays the same.

Of course Eldar players would be up in arms about this development, but who cares what they think! hehe.. ;D

Except Devilfish physically can't fly very fast.
And that upgrade would be in a similar price bracket to the multi tracker, and completely make it obsolete for them.
The only thing that shouldn't have a multi tracker is a piranha or a basic devilfish. What with only having one gun.
