Do Tau have any good fast attack options?
I know gun drones are good for fast attack, I heard pathfinders do an awesome job. Then the rest is pretty trashy, Am I right?

Depends on how you play. Pirahna are good if you use them right, they can move pretty damn fast, and bust up tanks.

Vespid can deepstrike now, but are still by many standards a wanting fast attack piece, though I like the concept they use.

pathfinders are alright if you know how to use them, and with this update they got a push up in the right direction.

drones are good sneaky ambushers, and arent too proud to go for a reacharound anti tank style.

They're all good, bar vespid. But they're good if you can use them effectively.

Pathfinders are a very good source of markerlights, being incredibly cheap now that you can give their devilfish to firewarriors. On top of that, the fish can guide a 4 man squad of drones to deepstrike behind those devastators that are pinning you down, try to survive a turn of fire then tie them up in an assault. Even if they die, its a gun that isnt shooting your valuable troops. Or shoot that rear armour of a tank.
Piranha are deadly, no one expects that little fast skimmer to pack a BS4 Fusion Blaster, and their drones are also capable of tying heavy weapon teams up and offer zero victory points.

Tau Fast Attack are very good, though probably the weakest in the Force Organization Chart.

I absolutely love pathfinders for the massed markerlights, but I have to admit they don't really fit the "feel" of Fast Attack. Rail Rifles and Markerlights for cryin out loud? Outflank, particularly in their devilfish helps quite a bit, though, and if you've got another source of markerlights the seeker missiles launched from the fish can hit rear or side armor. If I'm playing 1500 points or more I always have two squads of pathfinders.

I don't use Vespid as I consider them too expensive for as fragile as they are (or too fragile for their cost, depending on how you want to look at it ;) ), but if you can deepstrike them straight into cover at the right time they could do some serious damage to a MEQ squad.

Gun drones should work well, as they have slightly better accuracy and far better mobility than fire warriors, but mine never hit anything without lots of markerlight support. If I'm going to do an 8 model squad for 96 points they're going to be pathfinders!

i like all fast attack (exept vespid)

gundrones make great harrasment units
piranha's can really mess up tanks or kill infantry with a suprise FD (this ussualy only works once but still)
and pathfinders X points for a marker light and a devilfish with marker beacon is so use full when u use suicide suits like me (even thoug they often kill every thing and survive the whole game)

only thing i have a problem with is that i always fill my slots with pathfinders and so can't use my horde of gundrones or my pirhana

i enjoy a every fast attack exept vespid(suprise :o)

pirahnas are good tank huters or harrasment unit.. and if all else fails they become a str7 missle.*

Piranhas, and in fact, any vehicle that is not a tank, cannot ram.
Why (and this is just a reminder ;))
Ramming is a special kind of Tank Shock.
Only vehicles with type: Tank are able to Tank Shock.
A Piranha is not type: Tank; it cannot Tank Shock; ergo, it cannot ram either.

Ya know, I think that's the first time I've every heard someone use "ergo" outside of the Matrix. Spiffy. Bonus points.

Your also right, but how much fun would it be to have little piranha missiles flying around?

As said before, it is all about play styles and the like. I've just made a quick pros and cons table off the top of my head, I bet there are loads more though.
Pathfinders
+ Good Support Team
+ May be mobile or static
- Fragile
- Has to take a Devilfish

Vespids
+ Fast!
+ AP3 Anti-Marine weaponry
- Could be better in combat
- 12" Weaponry!

Piranhas
+ Fast!
+ Flexable
- Weak armour
- Can be used incorrectly

Gundrones
+ Provide harassment/speedbumps
+ Can provide a cover save to those behind it.
- Fragile
- Not good at shooting or close combat

Ahhh Pathfinders... guys with Heavy weapons in a transport that isn't Fast. yeah, makes perfect sense that they'd be Fast Attack ::). Still though, I haven't Left home without two squads of them since 5th came out.
