Default Question on battlesuits

If this was already asked and answered, my advance apologies. I couldn't find it with the search function.

In the codex, it says that a member of the XV team may be upgraded to a Shas'vre for 10 points. Now, does there have to be more than one member for this upgrade, or can a Monat XV be upgraded to a Shas'vre? I recently just started playing a Tau army, so I wasn't sure. Thanks for any and all help!

Well its not that weird, as it would suggest the rest of his bond brothers had perished in battle and as tradition states he carries on alone. It's kind of ironic that the race that utilises a combined arms approach to warfare is the one that puts the "I" in "Team" :P

Thanks for the info. It seemed odd to me too, but if it's legal, than huzzah! Thanks again!

On Broadsides and Stealths, I agree - but for normal Crisis, it`s the only way to field Special Issue equipment - and to give a Mon`at Shas`ve the AFP was definitely worth it in 4th Ed...

Shame it's 5th ed. now then :_(

I prefer my bodygards for my shas'o'r'myr to have AFP and the CIB.

But anyway, thanks for the advice.

And what prevent you from doing so? The bodyguards are Shas'vre thus can take special issue gear.

And isn't AFP considered Barage now since it was a guess weapon?

Yes, it is - and the 2D6 deviation, coupled with the low BS (3) and the short range of the AFP makes it VERY likely that you hurt your own troops with it... Thus the AFP is now better suited for a BS 4-5 suit (I can`t believe I`m saying this...).

Cheers,
-Bone

I don't mean both on 1 model. I take the AFP with targetting array...
