As we all know, Flechette Dischargers activate against attacks made in close combat.
Consider the following scenario. I tank shock enemy infantry with a flechette-equipped tank. Enemy passes its leadership and attempts to Death or Glory against the tank. The attack my opponent chooses is a close-combat attack (grenade, power fist, whatever). Since this is a close combat attack, and not a shot fired from a gun the model is carrying, would I be allowed to use my Flechettes, thus (possibly) wounding the model before he can even swing at my tank? |

ACK! Tank shocking with fifth edition and exposing my tank to an automatic, REAR hit. Please tell me they changed the rules for fifth edition. ???

Death or Glory is done to the FRONT armor, not rear. Nothing has changed in that regard.

Tank shock is an exception to the close combat hit on rear armor rule. death or glory hits the front armor even if it is a close combat attack.

Hallehuh! I can still run my foes over with no fear of having my tank go boom (that or crush them into terrain >
).

I wouldn't say "no fear"... it's a 50:50 chance of wounding and they still get their armour save. Against Guard, you've a reasonable chance, but vs marines they have a better defense.

NO that part, the part where they hit the front of the armor (I face mostly guard or marines with little powerfists or no powerfists). So usually I trap an offending unit by surrounding it on all sides and having my HH hitting it against the terrain (so if they fail it they die!). I only do this if the unit is truly a threat or if I'm bored.

Ah, I see. Got wrong end of stick. Sorry. It's still risky vs a Fist, but the odds are on your side that he'll die, I spose.
