Default Deathrains, Burning Eyes, or Sunforges?

I'm torn.

I've always liked the idea of TL MPs, TL PRs & TL FBs, yet I only have have 2 2-man squads of suits left. So I was just wondering which of these you found were either more successful/useful in your experiences or less so. There are no specific opponents this is aimed at, & I already have the following (only listing what may affect choices):

Fireknife 'O
3 Helios Crisis
CIB & AFP Monat
Ionhead &/or Railhead &/or Skyray

I love Missile Pods, and Plasma Rifles. I find them both to be EXTREMELY useful 'in game' (BUT don't discount Burst Cannons).

T/L is a GREAT way to go, plus put one of each on your Shas'Vre and put a HW Multi Tracker on him.

Ch-ch-check out Firestorms (burst cannnon, missile pod). It doesn't have the armor penetration that a plasma does, but it has a high volume of fire.

As for specifically twin-linking: I'd think a Deathrain (tw missile pod) is the most useful. It's superior range means more shots, meaning you get more from the twin-linking. With the other weapons, you have to close a great deal for them to be effective. Furthermore, you're twin-linking two shots on the MP; the fusion only fire once, and plasma only twice if your're <12" from your target.

Cheers, so one of the teams will definitely be Deathrains then. What about the other? Plasma or Fusion?

Already done with the Helios team leader! (TL PR, FB, HWMT)

I would go with TL Missile Pod & Targeting Array. Yes I know that with TLing the MP you'll get pretty good accuracy, but with the Targeting Array, you are almost assured hits. Since you have a 2 man team, just make one a team leader and give him a HW Target lock. Gives you great accuracy, ability to bring those MP shots to two separate targets, and is somewhat cheap.

I really must say that the plasma rifle and the missilepod don't work together. maybe on a El or an O but never on regular suits. if you really have to put Plasma rifle-Missile pod config, you must have some kind of Shooting Enhancement like the Targeting array. Target lock or Multitracker is bad. myself usually use twinlinked Plasmas or Missiles and I'm even adding the Targeting array for that absolute hit on my enemy.

I would just make sure you have some markerlight support to back up your Fire Knives. Sniper Drone Spotter works well in this role. ;D

At the moment I've got all my XV8s fielding Missile Pods with Fushion Blasters in my 1000 anti-Guard list. I'll be up against Russes and Storm Troopers; so the MPs can wear-down the Storm Troopers and maybe get some side or rear armour hits on the Russes untill it's safe to charge in with the FBs. Though hopefully my Broadsides should have popped them by then.

Fusion blasters are a bit of a gamble - they're only really useful if the enemy has a tank heavy army, as if they only have one or two tanks, your HH should be able to deal with them. If they have loads of tanks, however, deepstriking a suicide squad of TL Fusion blaster armed suits can really hurt the enemy.

Just a bit of info to help you decide
