Default 5th edition tactics.

I've noticed the increase in topics regarding 5e tactics on this board so I've decided that we should have a topic where people can put there tacticas/guides/ideas, big or small.
Don't be afraid to put an idea up if it's too small or large.

Here are a few to get you started.
Deadnights guide.

Knightperson's vehichle guide.

Drones in 5e
http://forums.tauonline.org/index.php?topic=66991.0

Here you can find the latest 5e news rumours.

Try to keep the posts positive.

I'm not trying to be anti-positive or anything, but 5th edition isn't out yet. I wouldn't really start compiling or trying to adapt/follow all the strategies people are throwin around simply because we're not sure if they're all right. I'd hate to have people try and follow some of the preliminary tactics listed here only to have them not work under the hard 5th edition rules.

This is a good idea, I guess it's just my personal preference to have everyone chill until the rules are actually released. It kind of seems like we're jumping the gun here.

Facts about 5th-Disruption pod give a 4+ save to vehicles

-Strength 5 weapons on vehicles are offensive(like the way I find this rule :P)

Other than that you are right we don't really know anything but it is good to be a little prepared

I know we should really wait for the actual book to come out, but a lot of people sounded like they were going to sell their armies before 5e came out.

Now for a small continuation of this topic http://forums.tauonline.org/index.php?topic=66991.0

Vepid and Drones
v=vespid
d=drone
t=marine
-------------------------------------
v v v v v
v v v v
d v st
d
d d

t t t t t t t t t t
-------------------------------------
In this example, the drones are used as a moving platform. This protects the vespid from fire and assault (While the drones last).
If you have two units of drones, assault the marines with both units (unless the drones have pinned the marines, then there is no point in throwing away the drones), the marines are only able to attack one unit at a time, guaranteeing your vepids a turn to flee.
Your able to do a lot of this in 4th edition, but it's still there when 5th edition comes around.

Vespid are quick and were good for grabbing objectives in 4th edition.
However now they can only contest objectives. :'(
Thats why it's good to use them in conjunction with kroot, who can capture objectives.
There is no point in being great at catching objectives if you get shot to pieces before you reach them.
So pirahnas can be used as a skimmer wall (Which now block LOS).

As you can see Vespid are good models, but only when used with other units.
Vespid are team players!

So they perfectly fit in with the Tau as the whole army makes use of mutual support(markerlights)
