Default fire warriors, the true spirit of the team

what do you see a fire warrior team working like if there were tau in real life situations? i've always imagined them as a type of elite storm trooper with the "go, go, GO!" type stuff mixed in, but also with a large part dedicated to religion (i.e. the greater good)

your thoughts?

I agree, they probably would behave like modern troopers, dropping in, then killing while minimizing causalities.
I think it'd be identical to me, my brother, Micheal and Yung on Rainbow Six Vegas.

The Tau military is loosely based on the U.S. military in my opinion. (The Empire itself is not, just the military)

The Tau achieve their results by maximizing the usefulness of their technology, and minimizing their casualties. My brother is in the U.S. Army, and some of the technology they use is out of this world. They actually have a uniform out now that is made out of nanites that bunch together when they are hit, making the uniform bullet proof.

So a team of fire warriors would be the equivalent of a squad of U.S. Infantry.

Are you sure they are actual Nanites :

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nanorobotics

I only ask as Nanite Technolody is still theoretical.

Maybe the fire warriors that aren't mounted in a devilfish troop transport.
Because skimmers haven't been invented.
Yet.

I see them staying at distances and picking off enemies, like snipers.

That makes sense given the range of their weapons

if you look at the models posses and the fact that they dont have full body armour just chest shoulders upper leg n helmet with some sorta fabric stuff holding it all on it seem like they have a more special forces feel to me... imagine SAS with pulse weapons. the other thing that makes me think this is the fact the have long rifles and a carbines so they are highly virsitial in the zones they can engage in. they are also virtually always mounted in something to quickly move them to were they are needed rather than hold in one place.

The Army doesn't march anywhere anymore, unless their Sergeants feel like having some fun. They use strikers and Humvees.
