I always win. I've never lost (except to grey knights in a tourny...he was old and he pwned) and I normally win by a long shot.

My question: are Tau broken? My suits are rarely caught in the open, and on low terrain games I keep them back until my skimmers die. My tanks get killed half the time, miss 25% of the time, and obliterate the other 25%. My fire warriors sometimes get picked off, but I rarely lose a whole squad, because they are usually with a fish.

I regularly play Necrons, Imperial Gaurd, Space Marines, Chaos Marines, Grey Knights, Eldar, and Tyranids.

I've got my codex memorized (point costs rules ect..) and I make new lists all the time, but even when I use a generic 1000 point army and take one of my opponents on, I just find I usually win.

I don't want to LOSE, but then again, it would be nice to be beaten every once in a while so I have something to analyze and improve on.

Any advice or comments?

The best advice would be to find some more challenging opponents so you are forced to play better

I run a hammerhead list most of time, army only contains 6 fw's, they suck lol Rarely loses unless it's against eldar in which it's evenly matched Or anything hard and fast :P

I would love to play you. I usually mechanize my FW playing a fully mech list (everything can move 12) or I run several HHs. I live in Washington.

My opponents aren't bad. They get frustrated too playing against me especially when we debrief the game and neither of us did anything wrong. I just outplayed them somehow. It may be that most opponents try to out shoot me, or play the exact same game as me, and Tau are better at it.

Should I make BAD lists? I really don't want it to come to that, but I honestly want to be able to go home wondering how I could have played better, or with some constructive criticism.

you should start playing on 40k vassal module, you'll find some good people on there

Vassal is for playing games online, I know next to nothing about it so you should ask someone else for more information

Go look at other games section thread stickied at top.

It's basically an online 40k tabletop, has all the models, templates and terrain etc, exactly like playing 40k I make the model sprites for it

so this is a daemon prince for example

If you find you are always winning, try crippling yourself. If you take 750-800 points against an enemy with 1000 and can still win, that means that it is because you have good skill as a general. If the Tau were broken, you would still easily pull off a win, which I doubt. You will probably wind up losing more games this way, but it's more challenging, really makes you think, and teaches you to be more conservative with your troops.

What point levels are you playing? I know when I used to play 1000 points I'd always win because I could take 2 Hammerheads and 2 Mounted Fire Warrior squads, which I often do (although now it seems like cheating). Likewise, what's your normal list? I found a massive gap when i started playing 1500 games as opposed to 1k, I was actually losing some of them!
