Default attaching seeker missiles

Quick question: How do people go about attaching their seekers to their vehicles? I dont want to glue them in place, incase I dont always want to buy the points for them. Also whats the best looking place people have found to put them on the model? (ie piranhas and DF)

I use magnets so they don't have to be on all the time and I can remove them once fired. I find on the top of the engines to look cool and seem probable for DF. Don't know for Piranha, maybe under the wings?

I stick all of mine under the wing and use magnets to support them there. Plus during a game it's usefull for knowing how many missiles i have left on the vehicle.

I know there's a WYSIWYG rule, but I always thought it was silly that the Seeker Missles would be house externally like that. I think it makes more sense that the seeker missiles would be stored internally in a missile bay type thing, only coming out when fired.

If you dont mind converting:

Devilfish, hammerhead: Make a mounting on the coupola on the top. Attatch them there.
Pihrana: (i havent tried this, just an idea) Make bays on the sidewalls to make them fold out.

I know that the rear doors on the hammerhead can open and close, maybe you could build a launcher attached to the door...

But in the middle of a firefight do you want to be waiting for the missile to deploy?

Besides, what are the chances the missile will be hit?

You dont need to wait for a missile to deploy. Use a spring eject! The missiles pop out in no time and are ready to fire. You make a smaller target, and its more fluffy.

But if a shot gets through your armour there's an explosive next to the engine(!)

And if its on the outide? Its an anti armour missile... If it goes off on the outside, it will probably blast the side off anyways. And very few explosives will detonate just by the kinetic energy of a shot. Maybe the heat from a lasgun or something like that. Id guess the tau uses electricly detonated explosives. Like C4. Try to ignite it with a match and it burns. Hit it and it makes a shape of the tool you used. Send a current through and youre dead...
