Default Point-Cost analysis (Tau)

The following are the point per dollar ratios for all of the basic Tau units (basic meaning minimal wargear necessary to match boxed set or most common battlesuit configuration).* Values are approximate and reflect GW US prices in dollars.

Shas'O* * * * * * * * * * * * * * 5.5
Shas'El* * * * * * * * * * * * * * 4.3
Ethereal* * * * * * * * * * * * * 5.0

Crisis Suit* * * * * * * * * * * * *3.3
Stealth Suit* * * * * * * * * * *6.0

Unmounted Fire Warrior* * 5.1
Mounted Fire Warrior* * * * 3.2
Kroot* * * * * * * * * * * * * * *3.7
Human Auxiliary* * * * * * * *varies (generally very low)

Pathfinder* * * * * * * * * * * 2.6
Pathfinder w. RR* * * * * * *2.8* * * * * * * * * *
Kroot Hound* * * * * * * * * 2.4
Gun Drone Squadron* * * *varies, as you can not buy only drones

Broadside* * * * * * * * * * * *2.1
Hammerhead* * * * * * * * * 4.0
Krootox* * * * * * * * * * * * *3.3

Aun'shi* * * * * * * * * * * * * 8.8
Farsight* * * * * * * * * * * * *4.9

Tau Battleforce* * * * * * * *6.0

So as you can see, we have another reason to recommend the battleforce, kroot are expensive to play, and Aun'Shi is good for something after all.* *

Very nice Khanaris!

Sleathsuits are a great deal, as we already knew, but it's cool to have other ways to see it, other than rules and stats Money is important afterall

Shas'O, Ethereal, XV15 and Firewarriors--not bad!

Doesn't even surprise me about the XV-88's though--such a poor model and unit in my opinion, only reflected by it being over-priced and over-specialized.

I wonder why that is. For Tyranids you cant buy rippers and stuff like that. But for chaos you can get nurgles (you just buy the fantasy ones, exact same)

You can buy drones via blisters and packs, just not in the store in a cardboard box it seems. I consider it kind of a nice bonus getting tons of them with virtually everything you buy in the Tau army, saves the mistake of buying hordes of them and then finding out you don't like them or that they're not your style. As it is, it's a nice freebie that you can consider when buying multiple boxes of something (you'll get a free fast attack so to speak).

Looks like it's time to go and get me a half dozen Aun'shi models.

Space Marines (mostly selected from new line)

Commander(Base) 4.1
Commander(Tricked out) 13.0

Terminators 4.0
Veterans 2.6

Tactical Squad 4.7
Scouts 3.3

Assault Squad 3.7

Devastators 4.0
Land Raider 4.5
Predator (annihilator varient) 3.6

These are mostly for the new boxed sets. I was wrong before. They are actually getting more cost-effect overall with the new line. Another thing to grumble about, I suppose.
