If its a dedicated transport, then it doesn't take up any troop choices, but if it isn't dedicated, then yes, it counts as a troops choice

No, a devilfish is a dedicated transport and thus does not count as a troops choice.

Anyone who says otherwise should be titansocked. Like Dreadsocked, but more permanant.

Trust me, its dedicated. If I had a quid for every thread on this, I would be a very rich man.

.....

Where does it state that it's always dedicated?

Because its a dedicated transport. The only way to get one is buying it for Fire Warriors or Pathfinders, and it becomes dedicated to the unit it is bought for.

The fact that it has the heading: "Transport:", and the fact that in the bar on the left side, you can read "Transport", as well; unlike the bar left of the Firewarrior team, which clearly reads "Troops".

My subtle diagram disagrees with you.
your "subtle" diagram contains Optimus Prime and Proffessor Farnsworth, it's heresy in it's own right!
Any similarities between your reality and mine are purely coincidental...
