I was watching this small battle of Tau vs Orks. The Tau guy took 6 squads of 6 Fire warriors and went crazy everywhere. Anyone else see this kind of tactic? Oh, and he won.

Depends on the point level and what the terrain was like, but I can see that being decent at very low army sizes. 6 units of 6 FWs is a minimum of 360pts - perfect for a Combat Patrol type game.

That's found more often in static Firewarrior armies, perfably half-and-half rifles and carbines...the tactic does work, but it is farily tricky...I tried it once and failed horribly! Oh well...back to the Fishes!

It is terribly inefficient to put a Shas'ui in a 6-man squad, so an Ethereal may be a good investment if you plan to field a lot of them.

There was nothing said of a Shas'ui...but yes, it wouldn't serve a purpose...good point Khanaris!

even if you take an etheral its test at 2 and 50% at 3 , instead of 3 and 6. target saturation plays a factor here also but I generally like to err on the side of caution and go for big squads, then again I also advocate being smart and getting a Fish for even mor protection
