Default Puretide's speculated 3rd pupil

I think there was a topic here a while ago about if puretide had a 3rd pupil, He did infact. Even though its not part of the actual 40k game but from DOW. Puretide's third pupil was ''shipped'' of to Kronus during the dark crusade. Fluff suggests that Shas'o Kais was his 3rd pupil.
Quote:
Shas'O Kais was a student of Commander Puretide. He was dispatched to quell the troubles on Kronus, and brought along the Fire Caste and the Tau allies, the Vespid and Kroot. He was also dispatched with the Ethereal Aun'el Shi'Ores to secure and hold the capital city on Kronus.
thoughts?

Puretide had three pupils, Farsight, Shadowsun and Icewind. I don't think O'Kais is Icewind, although I suppose it might be possible.

They are all he had - DoW is very shaky on matters of fluff, so I wouldn't take it as gospel.

teachings of puretide, could be like teachings of sun tzu, documents 0r holographic projections of data.

O`kais must have grasped some matter of puretides concepts through data.

I'm starting to treat Puretide the way I treat Master Chief; mention him, and I will dismiss the speaker's opinion as idiocy.

Try it; ignore everything said by anyone who supports Puretide, and Tau fluff makes so much more sense.

You just solved the Farsight-Shadowsun-time paradox!

There lies wisdom in your agressive approach to everything, Wargamer... Maybe we should collect all your texts, and publish a "Gospel of the Wargamer"? And then wage a bloody holy crusade agains Chavs, Necron fluff and he WD-team... ;D

Farsight, Shadowsun, and Icewind were pupils of the real Puretide.

It's likely O'Kais from Dawn of War was simply a student of his teachings, though not necessarily there when the real Puretide was alive.

And now my rule comes into force.

We have been told Farsight is centuries old. We have also been told that living to 60 all but unheard of for a Tau. Ergo, we have a major anomaly.

Remove Puretide.

Farsight, Shadowsun, and Icewind were pupils of [BLANK].

Hmm... well, what now? Farsight is clearly far older, so how can all three be pupils of the same thing?

Well, they could be pupils of a "School". Institutions can easily outlive individuals.

Problem solved! All three attended the same Shas Academy!

Nice idea, but I would prefer:

Keep Puretide.

Farsight is some weird anomoly - no one knows if he is alive or dead, or what. Just that what appears to be the same individual is leading his armies.

Icewind died fighting Damocles/Nids.

Shadowsun died long ago, and took no part in anything involving fourth edition Tau. She probably died on some backwater Imperial world of syphillis, and is forgotten.

Yeah, keep Puretide...but retcon Shadowsun in the next codex, so she's no longer his "pupil". I have no problem with her in particular, but her background needs to make sense.
