Default Best troops for Human Aux?

I'm wanting to spice up my army with a few humanoids...which troops do you fellas recommend?

On an unrelated note, where can I find rules on the Crisis suits with the clamp hand thingy?* I've got a Crisis suit with those meathooks, and I've heard that those guys specialize in H2H, but haven't seen any rules/info. Little help?

Thanx

edit: oh yeah, one more question...where can I find Tau-appropriate katanas in bulk? I need 50 or so to liven up the troops...

There's only one Crisis suit that specializes in H2H combat that I'm aware of, and that's O'Shovah...and he's a special character.

His warriors get an increase in WS, but it's a single point, and since none of the Tau have CC weapons options but O'Shovah, it's a little pointless...

hope this helps?

clamp hand thingy? gewhat?

humans? Tau can only have gue'vesa, worse guardsmen FYI, they can find use as 6 man EMP or markerlight carriers, however this is often a waste of troops slots as T3 5+ save gets killed fast ^-^

Hmmm... no idea bout that ahdn clamp thing.

But I'd agree with Diz, trying to use human aux as viable squads is kinda like throwing a forzen chicken into a jet engine (funny but it makes a mess).
Only people I know who use them are experienced players with a few points spare. They can be sneaky when an enemy ignores them...
"Meh, humans?, they're no threat, i'll shoot at that HH instead".... 2 turns later... "WHAT? Marker lit twin railgun hit? How'd those humans get there?"

I bought this Army off EBAY, and one of the suits had these 3-finger clamp hands. I showed it to a friend, and he said that it was probably some kind of Assault weapon option.

After reading through this thread, I took a closer look...and those things look like their from some other mini, and were just glued on! DOH. :P Thanks fellas...

Anyway, does anyone know of where I can get some katanas? Do any of the Warhammer fantasy or LOR armies have them?

I have heard of humans being used as cheap meat shields for your goodies that sit back(take a broadside for instance) but, no practical experience yet, so take it with a grain of salt.
{where did i read that??}

In fantasy, you can get a variety of swords. They're mostly broadswords, or the like, but, you can probably find some claymores, and maybe rapiers.
However, Katanas are Japanese, and Fantasy is based on European lore, just like LoTR, so you probably won't be able to find them within Games Workshop.
On the other hand, most power weapons can be converted into Katanas pretty easily, or closely resemble one. I suggest the ones from Howling Banshees from Eldar.
