Default Help with broadside configuration

So I'm currently planning my second broadside team.

The one I have currently is a 3 regulars broadsides (Railgun and SMS) with Advanced stabilisation system.

That's my mobile team.

The second one I plan it to be static team of 3 broadsides with the plasma rifle option. and I brought it down to 3 possible third hardpoint system.

1) Shield Gen (for better protection)
2) Targetting array (increase my to hit chance from 75% to about 90%)
3) Multitracker (allow to use both the railgun and plasma rifle at the same time)

As you can see all three could be good for a static team. What do you recommand?

Your delema isnt a serious one if your fielding 2 broadside teams.
Your static team probably would be best served with TA to guarentee hits.
Shield gen drones for your team leader

If you are expecting them to be deep striked and assaulted then have a kroot fw or gun drone unit near by to be speed bumps to prolong the encounter.

Its if you know your going to be assualted or not to be a deciding factor between TA and MT.

Is your second team from Forge world?

No they will be regular GW Broadside...I only plan to get the FW kroots.

Odds are that I will indeed be assaulted since I'm facing, mainly, Sisters of Battle, Space Marines, Tyranid, Darl Eldar or Imperial Guards.

Out of curiousity, what armies are you going up against that warrant 6 twinlinked railgun shots each round? Since one full squad of broadsides will, on average, ventilate a landraider or monolith every turn, what will you shoot at the rest of the game? The smart missiles are useful, I admit, but I'd rather mount them on devilfish most of the time. And a helios suit or three is a more cost-effective way of dealing with terminators and similar nuisances.

Well like I said, I regularly face:
Sister of Battles (with immolator and some other tank),
Space marines (Black Templar or DIY chapter),
'nids (Nidzilla core (Flyrant, and 3 'Fex)),
Dark Eldar (annoying Wyches with skimmers),
and some Imperial guard (Nothing major here Sentry and heavy weapons).

So as you can see the 6 TL railgun isn't completely wasted. Also you got the fluff side of my army which I want it to be suit/auxiliaries heavy.

But regadless which of the weargear (from the list in the first post) do you think I should put up as a third hardpoint knowing it's a second broadside team and the foes I face?

Well... in my opinion if you have the points to spare you might try to give the Shas'vre a shield Gen and them all Drone Controllers and 2 x Shield Drones. One of my buddies who plays space marines still can't get over how long it takes to kill that squad with termies and such ;D

If that doesn't appeal to you then I'd go for the Targeting Array

I have to agree with The Gear Mechanic. Shield Drones have yet to fail me and they increase the life span of ANYTHING! ;D ;D ;D

Man that would be so awesome...evil, but awesome. I was actually considering giving my shas'vre 2 shield drone for added security VS those pesky dark lance i frequently face (one of the reason i was conidering shield gen)

So it seems that TA or MT is still amongst the favorite wargear (with a slight preference for TA)...any other opinion?

If I had that unit (well I'm planning on building it one day). I'd equip multi-trackers, and get a team leader with 2 hard wired shield drones. You can always up their shootyness with ML support, and with that combo you've basically got a long range MEQ/TEQ killer. Thats likely 6 models down each turn, and few MEQ units can withstand that kind of punishment and remain effective.

To go with the popular opinion, shield drone will make an opponent whine and cry, and call you cheesestick. Thats good for you, if you can stand the crying. Your scary fire base should shock opponents, but may be a tad overkill. Still, best to save all of those points with shield drones, GO BIG OR GO HOME.
