Default Crisis Suits

[img]Saw this rather spectacular diorama on the Micro Art Studio
wed page a few weeks ago & have been toying with the idea of doing
something similar.

All suggestions on helping with a conversion would be most appreciated

Whoa.

Quite an amazing job. Shouldn't this be in one of the Hobby Boards, though? Probably the Conversion Board since you're asking for suggestions on how to make your own.

Wish I could give you some help, but I'm clueless when it comes to the Tau.

Best of luck,

-Grandpa Ducky

All I can think when I see the model next to it is "Man, he can't fit in there!"

As for help...make your cuts carefully and I hope you're good with green stuff. Some additional stuff like wires and cables attached to the suit might look cooler.

Well, the model is a Crisis Suit, the model in front is from the Devilfish Sprue C. The model in front's arm is one from the Fire Warrior sprue, the one with the grenade, but with the hand re-sculpted.

It is likely that paper clips have been used for the wires.

Oops! sorry, still not to sure on the posting regs for the site. ???

Been struggling on how to make the Crisis suit pilot look convincing enough that
he'll fit in let alone operate the unit.

Can anyone give an idea to how & where the pilot would enter/exit if not from the front. ( I'm sure there's a rule that allows a crisis pilot to eject from a stricken unit/suit?)

Thank god I'm just a modeller/painter. Doing this kind of conversion would be a
logistic nightmare in terms of gaming that's if the piece would be allowed anyway.

Basically, you'd need to scale the crisis suit to the correct size - the gw ones are too small.

Yes, there is an ejection system rule, although I think the only realistic way in or out is from the front.

I dunno, I think a Fire Warrior could fit into a Crisis. I mean, look at the Tachikomas from Ghost in the Shell - those cockpits are an awful tight fit. But, they get away with it.

And in the process of typing that, my brain just had an idea for a conversion....Tachikoma Crisis Suits!!!

Well, we had a discussion a little while back about Crisis suit sizes and I threw out this design I did.

[Crisis Suit and Pilot]

As you can see, the suit itself is rather off-scale on the tabletop.

IA3 (mini:mini scale) says XV8s are 2.8m tall.
Kill Team (fluff:fluff scale) says they're roughly 3.5-4m tall at the shoulder.

Most GW models are off-scale to the fluff.
