Default question about the sky ray

It has come to my concern whilst reading my tau codex that the sky ray has 6 seeker missles, does this mean

a) it can fire all 6 missiles at once
b) it can only fire 1 missile
c) it can fire 1 missile but its twin linked?

Could somebody please tell me

B)ish

It can fire 1 seeker missile per markerlight hit used. On its own it can shoot its two markerlights at two two different targets, and if it hits, use both tokens to shoot two missiles. If you have 6 pathfinders hit, you can use all 6 missiles too. It just depends on how many markerlight hits you have.

The answer for those questions

a) and b) : You can fire one missile per markerlight hit. So if you have 6 markerlights hits, you can fire all the missiles away. If you have two markerlight hits, that means you an fire a potential of two seeker missiles.

In addition, the missiles can actually fire at multiple targets, as long as the targets have a single or more markerlight hits on them. SO if you have a single markerlight hit on one enemy squad and another in another enemy squad, you can fire one seeker missile each to each of the respective enemy squad.

c) No, it's not twin-linked.

To fire the missile, yes. But it can fire its other weapons (all secondary weapons, including the networked markerlights) with its own BS.

Read the Markerlight entry in the Tau Codex.

Firing a Seeker Missile can only be done via a Markerlight. First the Markerlight has to hit. Then, you expend the counter to fire a Seeker Missile (fired at an assumed BS of 5, so it can still miss on a D6 roll of 1).
