Default Combat patrol list for tournament.

I have to make a combat patrol list for an upcoming tournament I'm entering. I have no idea what armies i might be facing, but i do know that the games being played will be 'Take and Hold (closest scoring unit to a single objective)' and 'Patrol Clash (try and kill as much of the enemy as possible)'. Both only last 6 turns.

This is what i have in it:
Sniper Team
3x Crisis suit with TA and Twin Linked misslepod
8xFire warriors
8xFire warriors

I've chosen this as it seems to me it can be able to hold against most armies.
I was wondering if anyone else had any other ideas for changing some areas or the whole thing and what they generally thought about it.

I believe the combat patrol rules have changed slightly so here they are (they are free to obtain but to receive them you have to have them posted to you):
Army no more than 400pts
Must have 1 troops choice
You may only have 1 HQ choice
You may spend the remaining points anywhere in your codex
no special characters
no 2+saves
No model with more than 2 wounds
No vehicle with total armor higher than 33.
No ordnance weapons
no specialist army lists
Combat patrol should ideally be played on a 4' x 4' board.

And thats the rules.
Any comments welcome ;D(well nice ones at least :P)

though I'd probably have more suits.. but thats my cheesey side showing again..

I was thinking of having more suits in the list but its a suit or 5 fire warriors, which allow me to have 2 sqauds of them.
It means that i can have some covering from the 2nd sqaud whilst the other is moving forward.
Well thats the plan ;D

I suggest taking out some firewarriors to add suits with plasma rifles, for those pesky marines. If not, take off the twinlink misslepods, and have only one pod, with plasma rifles. Marines would eat your current selection, although it would probably fare quite well against others. It all depends on who you're playing.

Are the Crisis in the same squad? I recommend you to make each Crisis a loner. In that way, they are more useful.

I'm not so sure about the sniper team, in a battle so small I'd rather have a unit that could count as scoring. I'd see if I could squeeze a couple of plasma suits also. I haven't done the points yet, but I'd try to get 2 plasma suits and 2 lone Deathrains, then spend the rest on Firewarriors. That would give you 5 scoring units instead of 3. All of the Crisis suits will be scoring until they're wiped out.

Completely disagree. Sniper Drones really shine in CP - the smaller table size means rail rifles are almost always in range, and he already has 5 scoring units. The pinning effect and the AP3 of rail rifles performs wonders against small units and armies without a Leadership-support framework.

I looked at this yesterday, but i had to stop and think about this before i posted. But i noticed one this that may be seen as a flaw. you have no fast units except the Crisis suits, but these are set for distance with TLMP. I mean i like the list for CP, but if you need to get to an objective and hold it. if it's limited to 6 turns you'll want to get there and hold it. Just my 2 cents. I would suggest maybe a devilfish.

i find devilfish a tad to expensive for what they are in CP and don't give to much back.
The way i go for the objectives is to have the FW squads supporting each other moving forward.

i find that when facing SM they have either small sqauds (sniper team) or alot of scouts (missle pod). Also you generally get alot more shoots with missle pods, more likely to hit, though they are less likely to kill them outright, you are also ensuring a higher survivability when using missle pods because you are further away and can outmaneuver them. (note there isn't much terrain used, it varies from 4-6 depending on what type of table we are playing on).
I'm gonna have to do the math at some point, but anyone else is welcome to do it before me to show what works better against SM. ;D

your at 401 WITHOUT the targeting arrays

add them in and you've got yourself a 431 point army...which is over...by 31 x.x

as for the list, can't say nuttin since I'm really inexperienced.
