Then you didn't search well! There's a topic about the new tanks and Tau AI stuff. :P

I've never seen it until now. But by the looks of it, all it has is the twinlinked Missile pod and the drone controlled burst cannons. Oh, and only two Remora stealth fighter drones.

I'd rather field the original Tigershark over this one.

That's an Aeronautica Imperialis model, first line of the title.

Even if made into a 40k model, other than coolness, I'd rather have a AX-10.

Hmm, two little fighter drones, or a pair of starship grade railcannon? I know what I'd choose....

Crikey! This crazy clown causes commotion like the coming of Christ. Certainly, still a curious and cordial cavalier in the countenance of crazed cads, curs and creeps who condemn courtesy as something corny. No cloud could collapse his crushing crescendo of comical crowing and crimson coiffure. This conjecture on culture comes circumlocutive, consequently...

They are upgrade kits for the plastic GW-Baneblades.

Now that's what I'd have thought, except a plastic Baneblade costs 60 and these resin upgrade kits are all 85. But the full resin kits for the Stormblade and Stormsword are 140, so it's actually *more expensive* to buy the conversion kit. Even with the Shadowsword, you only save 5. This seems silly to me.

Edit: My mistake, they're not conversion kits, they're complete kits just using bits of the Baneblade kit. So it's not like buying a Vanquisher turret, it's like buying the complete Vanquisher set with the Leman Russ chassis. Everybody else probably already knew this...

It's not just a drone-carrier - it's a command-and-control aircraft, like a real-life AWACS. It may not pack much punch on its own, but it gives some sort of benefit to the initiative of your entire force in a game of Aeronautica Imperialis. I haven't played with it myself, but I like the concept: there are plenty of aircraft with big guns, but not so many that provide a more subtle influence on gameplay.

I haven't seen the rules for the drones, but I wouldn't be surprised if they counted as Very Agile, which would give the Tau a fighter capable of keeping up with the Lightning.

Oh i'd grab one of these beauties like a shot WHEN it makes it into 40K scale production. It's an excellent looking ship. Check out the side view. I love the hanger area and the raised cockpit section.

Sure, it's not loaded with weaponry (which I think is a bit daft, as it's defenses are pretty weak), but it's certainly a worth addition to Tau.
