IA3 say 70 kph as max recorded speed, so I'll go with that ^^

Yep, that's the official maximum speed for a Hammerhead. So we can't really argue that it can go in excess of 100 kph. Eldar however, I am not too sure.

Sheesh, some of those speeds are a little excessive - it's only a hover tank, not a super-duper lightspeed supersonic speedster. It's not even an aircraft! I don't know much about the Tau, but I can't imagine the thing ever reaching above the speed of sound, even in space (which it can't operate in, due to not being pressurised).

Are you sure it's not pressurized. I was pretty sure that it was. The devilfish is, thats why there aren't any fire points on it. I'd just assume that the hammerhead would be the same.

In regards to those speeds, ya they're a little crazy. A battle tank going that fact would be useless on the battle field.

The Devilfish can be pressurized I think. As for speed... I think that 70 kph is a bit slow. 1,000 kph is a bit fast. I'm thinking it can go about 240 - 350 kph. Fast for a tank, slow compared to an Eldar tank. Also I think that a Tau tank should be able to be dropped from high up (10 to 15 miles) and be able to float down on it's anti-grav.

i think it could go about 1000 +

if you took of the railgun, i mean if its not supporting a upa gun the length of the tank then it could go faster and there is no friction which is one of the biggest slowerers

Slower than my Pickup. Which can go around 100-110 KPH I believe. Cannot remember.

Official numbers are 70 km/h.

If you don't like it, complain to Forge World.

You're talking about moving a large, heavy, and somewhat but not particularly aerodynamic chassis, all the grav plating and underside jets are going to do is provide lift.

hmmm, how fast can it go? Lose the weapons, throw in additional support, fill-in the holes where the front weapons are, and I think 1,000kph before you start leaving souvenirs behind/suffer damage. Maybe upto 10,000kph.

However, if you have the HH as-is, and want to keep it reasonably useful, I think the upper-limit would be 100kph.
