Default Kroot Mercenary Army

I have no clue were to put this, so im gonna put it here...ok? Well, anyway, I've come up with a Kroot Mercenary Army. It's supposed to be fluff wise a stealthy army, sneaking up on opponents and trying to kill as much as once. In game terms, I have a expert Inflitraring army (every squad/kindred group have a Shaper w/ Blood of Stalkers upgrade, allowing the squads to move up even closer, and hopefully attack in a turn. Yay!!! Well, here it is;

Basically, everything just deploys really close up. This allows me to get into combat easily. However, there are exceptions, as after the Hunters and the Trackers deploy, they let loose a few shots in order to give cover, and ensure that the enemy army have no where to run. I'm really trying to close in on the enemy. BTW, my Seer council acts as heavy weapons w/ 4 evisicators. So, how is it???

I like it, and the post is in the right place. the only thing is you might want to put some hounds in the shaper council, maybe with the extra twenty points, because every shoot on that group is killing a shaper, and the majority of heavy weapons will probably be focused on them as their the main threat to the enemies armor, and if tooken out you have a low chance at killing any vehicles. This is just personal opinion, but I like keeping a high amount of basic kroot and plugging eviscretors in each of the groups, so they can't be easily tooken out. also, the master shaper is a little expensive for something that can be tooken out fairly easily, but obviously you can just join him with another squad. Other then that the army looks great, and if you get into CC the first turn the game is basically yours.

Thats the point of the Blood of Stalkers upgrades. I dont want to add hounds for a reason- I gave the council wings!!! They'll be within assault the first turn I get. Haha.

Well, the list looks in order, but we don't happen to have any real hearty Kroot Merc players that I know of here. I've toyed around with them, but I don't claim to "know them inside out" .. you know? One thing, is that I think that you have way too many BoS upgrades in there on units that cannot get close enough to make a difference. For instance, the real idea of the BoS is to infiltrate so close and use your totem to get first turn--hoping for a first turn all out brawl. If a few key units make it into combat you can really do some damage. That shaper squad is -very- expensive and as a unit will be targeted and destroyed easily, I would spread those Eviscerators out to the other shapers. I would really recommend the hound packs and vultures for the BoS upgrades because they can move fast enough and get close enough to make real use of it. The BoS makes best use on any unit with fleet of foot or that has enhanced movement (like flight). I think the headhunters are taking up too many points, and I would suggest the hound packs instead (granted headhunters are easier and cheaper to model). I would also drop the signature adaptation and simply go for more Kroot. The more bodies you have, the more chance of success you will have.

If you're really serious about the Kroot, I would highly suggest Kompletely Kroot (google them). They're pretty much the one-stop everything-Kroot place as they're quite a different army from Tau.

hm...good point. I was thinking; instead, should I drop the council squad and by some more stuff (well, ya). I was thinking spreading the eviscerators, getting some hounds, and changing the adaptation toOrk Hybrid. This'll make em tougher. Also, I was thinking maybe instead of Ork hybrid I can also go for Fast Reflexes, allowing me to strike a little bit faster....so, which one???

If you have to take an adaptation at all, I would take the initiative one since the kroots main weakness is only having 3 initiative, but then again I don't really like adaptations too much...

The only adaptation that is worth it, from a competitive perspective is the +initiative one. It seems to always be a good idea to spread point out in the Kroot--the non-character Shapers are your real work-horse, as they're the buried eviscerator with good attacks and all. Faster Kroot are at least cheaper overall, compared to the other upgrades, but quite useful.

yea, right after i got off the comp. yesterday I decided to go with + initiative. But I remade my list alot.......here it is. I decided i was kinda going a little too fluffy there (i wanted a stealth themed army), but then rethought and decided to go with a better tactical list that I still like. Here it is....
