Default Pathfinders & Markerlights

A unit of 8 Pathfinders = 8 markerlight shots ... correct?

If that is the case, does that mean you HAVE to direct all 8 markerlight shots at a single unit, or can you pick and choose? Say 2 shots spread out between 4 different units provided you pass a priority test?

yes, they obey the same unit wide targeting rules. However, as usual, target lock upgrades will allow a model that has it to split fire.

Ok that makes sense.

Can you split your fire then ... say 4 shooting marker lights and 4 shooting their Pulse Carbines (provided something is within range)?

Yes, you can split your fire that way. And if you're going to do that, you might as well take Rail-rifles.

Provided they all shoot at the same target, that is. But yes, shooting different weapons is possible, though I fail to see why you wouldn`t want to maximise your Markerlights per turn...

At which point all the troops with railrifles can fire at different targets, because they get automatic target locks...
