Default Impassable terrain and jump infantry

My question is this, if a piece of impassable terrain is a foot tall can jump infantry move right over it? The reason I was is because I was playing a friend and he jumped his daemon prince straight over a paper towel roll (none of the paper was used to it was thick), we where using it to represent a rock spire. Can jump infantry move over such a high peice of terrain? Also, if they cant, a page number in the rulebook where it states that would be a huge help! Thanks!

Yes they can IIRC, jump troops simply ignore terrain feathers they jump over. And their is simply nothing in the BGB to tell us how high they could theoretically jump.

Someone please correct me if I am wrong, but I think it goes to the fact that when you move you may only move Up as far as you coult have moved Forward at any given time. Thus if you are able to move your crisis suit 6' foward you could also move him up over 6', anything above that would be higher than he could fly. The movement portion of the rules specifically references standard infantry moving through a building say. If they roll 5" on their difficult terrain test, then they may move up to 5" into the building and up to 5" upwards within the building.

True, but I'm pretty sure that it says that jump troops ignore terrain altogether, much like skimmers. Except the landing part.

Definately going to need to take that under advisement. Although I know for certain that if were to try it with my gaming group I would probably get dreadsocked into a bloody lump.

They just can't land on top of it is. That is the only thing impassable terrain means to jump infantry.

Yes, actually, that`s dem rules. You can jump OVER it. You could even land ON it, IIRC, as long as the top of the spire is passable terrain. This does NOT work in CoD, though, since there, you have this upwards-movement rule.

Came up a while ago in my CoD-games against a friend...

The same is true for skimmers also. My hammerhead has flown over just about everything at one time or another.

I'm certain that the upwards movement rule only applies to models considered infantry, OR if jump infantry choose to walk rather than use their jetpacks.
Jetpacks and Jump Packs can be used to go over any terrain features, or land on top of anything that is passable, although a dangerous terrain test may be required.
