Default Multi-Trackers and Twin-Linked weapons

I don't see why some people do it ? Is there a reason behind it? People say they take it so they can fire 2 weapons, I don't quite understand how this works with a TL weapon.

Example: Typical Deathrain suit - Twin-linked Missile Pod and what ever else you please. Personally I take the Targeting Array, now what is the purpose in giving this suit a Multi-Tracker instead of a Targeting Array?

Thank you for any advice

There is no point giving a suit with TL weapons a Multi-tracker unless it's hardwired so the suit can carry a third weapon.
i.e: on a Commander or Team Leader.

Some people, wrongly, assume that a TL weapon with a Multi-tracker can fired as two separate weapons. That is not the case.
The other thing may be that they think having TL weapons requires you to have a Multi-tracker to fire both weapons. You don't, TL weapons count as a single weapon system for firing purposes.

Also, stuff like this has been discussed before, multiple times. The 'Search' button is your friend.
