I believe (but my rules are at home so I'm not 100%) that TL Flamers allow you to re-roll to wound rolls, since, as you pointed out, you don't have to roll to hit. Again, my rules are at home, so I could be completely off base with this as I don't really use TL Flamers all that often.

As per the rulebook for twin linked template weapons, they allow a re-roll to wound.

My subtle diagram disagrees with you.
your "subtle" diagram contains Optimus Prime and Proffessor Farnsworth, it's heresy in it's own right!
Any similarities between your reality and mine are purely coincidental...

Yes indeed, you reroll wounds with TL Flamers. Of course, there's really no reason to take TL Flamers. Flamers themselves, at least for the Tau, are the weapon you equip when points are getting scarce and you have one empty hardpoint on a battlesuit. They're generally the choice third-hardpoint on Deathrain Battlesuits (TLMP), to save points. However, I prefer either a Target Lock (only 1 more point over a Flamer, if I'm not mistaken), or more preferably, a Targetting Array (yay BS4!)

Hm, I actually thought about using a TL Flamer unit (with some other upgrade, maybe Drones) in a Rapid Insertion Force for Apocalypse - it is rather cheap, there are no FOC-restrictions, and you can point-land them on top of the enemy unit.

Also, in a CoD-fight, they might be worth it (never tried them, though, so don`t sue me).

Cheers,
-Bone

PS: Of course, I would NEVER advise ANYONE on GLUEING TL-Flamers on his suits. This is only for the people who have magnetised their Crisis, folks!
