Default Tau Armoured Cadre

Hello all, Was looking around in my IA 1, and was thinking wondering, would Tau ever use a Force Organisation chart following an IG Armoured Battle Group ?.

We have a player that has a Armoured Battle Group that brags that no one could ever beat his Army with any list and was thinking about building a Tau Armoured Cadre, I imagine it follow along these lines.

HQ:

Shas'el Command Tank:
Hammerhead w/RG SMS MT DL TL SS TA 2 Seekers

Elites:

Shas'vre Squadron Tank Commander:
Hammerhead w/RG SMS MT DL TL SS TA 2 Seekers

Shas'vre Squadron Tank Commander:
Hammerhead w/RG SMS MT DL TL SS TA 2 Seekers

Troops

Shas'ui Tank Commander:
2 X Hammerhead w/RG SMS MT DL TL SS

Shas'ui Tank Commander:
2 X Hammerhead w/RG SMS MT DL TL SS

Fast Attack

Piranha Team:
2 X Piranha w/FB TA SS DL

2 X Piranha w/FB TA SS DL

Shas'ui Pathfinder Team:
Warfish w/SMS DL MT TL TA w/ 7 Pathfinders

I really don't think that I'd need any Heavy Support options as this setup would be fielding 7 Hammerheads already and then adding in the Piranha's for flank support and using the Pathfinders to light up Targets for the seekers mounted on the Command Tanks.

i don't know much about amoured company, but a list including 7 hammerheads just sounds awesome ;D

maybe include some hammerhead variation, and maybe a skyray or something

dangit, ya beat me to the armoured interdiction carde!

That's a great list to go off of! while flipping the Armoured company rules in Chapter approved, i thought, since we also have access to FW, that we could have a variant of the list.

well here's the general idea i came up with:
it's the same as a armoured company with the following units:
HQ:
-command tank
hammerhead chassis
weapons: the HQ tank can take any of the following main weapons- railgun, ion cannon, TL Plasma cannon*, TL Heavy Burst cannon*, TL Fusion Cannon*

Elites:
-Tank ace
hammerhead chassis
weapons:railgun, ion cannon, TL Plasma cannon*, TL Heavy Burst cannon*, TL Fusion Cannon*

-Mobile firewarrior Squad- mounded in devilfish

Troops:
-hammerhead chassis
weapons: :railgun, ion cannon

Fast attack:
-Piranha squadron
Either normal or TX-42*

-pathfinder squadron- mounted in devilfish

Heavy support:
Skyray

-support hammerhead
Weapons- :railgun, ion cannon, heavy missile pod*

(*: these models are from forge world, rules in IA3)

Looks great, after I posted I got to thinking about skills option based on rank of the commander of the vehicle, as per IA 1 (Ace Gunner, Night Fighters, Disciplined Crew, Battle Hardened Crew, Slick Loader)

Shas'o or Shas'el:

Up to two skills, in addition they would automatically get the two listed items below.

+1 BS increase automatic, redeployment order (Apocalypse) up to twelve inches for one Squadron.

Shas'vre:

Up to one skill, and be able to change his Squadrons Battle Formation
(line - right or left staggered column - wedge - vee - right or left echelon)

Shas'ui:

Up to one Skill, and no other options

Cadre Command Gunship (HQ):
Hammerhead (Alpha or standard)
Additional Options: Advanced Targeting Array (BS 5), Repeating Fire Mechanism (main weapon is Gatling ;D), pintle-mounted Networked Markerlight, pintle-mounted burst cannon.

Gunship Squadron Command (Elites):
Hammerhead (Alpha or standard)
Additional Options: Advanced Targeting Array (BS 5), pintle-mounted burst cannon

Devilfish Squadron Command Team (Elites):
Pathfinder team.
Additional Options: Advanced Targeting Array (BS 5), pintle-mounted burst cannon

Gunship Squadron (Troops):
1-2 Hammerhead gunships. There may be one Gunship Squadron per Gunship Squadron Command Team.

Devilfish Squadron (Troops):
1-2 Fire Warrior teams, must be mounted in Devilfish. There may be one Devilfish Squadron per Devilfish Squadron Command Team.

Gun Drone Squadron (Troops)

Pirahna Squadron (Fast Attack)

Heavy Gun Drone Squadron (Fast Attack)

Barracuda (Heavy Support)

Skyray Air Defense (Heavy Support)
Options: Linked-Fire System (may fire any number of missiles per Network Markerlight hit), Expanded Missile Capacity (an additional six seekers).

I'll assign points later.
