Default Railgun kill chart

I was curious to see what the chances were to destroy an enemy vehicle with a railgun, assuming a single shot, and a penetrate result.
I came up with the following table using figures from a previous post about hit percentages.

% chance of destroying vehicle

XV88 marked Hammerhead marked
armour 14 18.75 24.31 16.66 22.22
13 25 32.4 22.22 29.62
12 31.25 40.49 27.73 37.03
11 37.50 48.61 33.33 44.44 ( not that railguns should be shooting at av11 but it must be neccessary sometimes )

I just did this for fun and thought it was interesting...not neccessarily useful but boiling down percentages is always a good thing when looking at target priority

yes, nice table, but unique, you are laughing now at our strength'8' guns, but do you realise just how many we can have in a decent sized army.
by the way, what are the armour values of a wave serpent?

not sure about copyright, Take a devilfish and add 12 on the sides then make all weapons that shoot at it thats str9/10 str8 then any like meltas at half range dont get additional dice so its a toughie, Ohh yeah, twin linked Starcannons

Wave serpents have 12 armor at the max *;D

That's fine, that just means you aim the rail gun at something else if you have missiile pods in range. Also, it's usually not good when rail rifles can bust your best tank's armor *:P

exactly my point, you may survive more if we are strength '8' but really what hope do you have if your'e armour 12,12,10?

hmmm. you didna reckon on me vehicle upgrades!!!! Anyway, back on topic, yes Railguns are lethal but if an intelligent player uses his wits they can be rendered useless

Yes, but that chart is one Hammerhead tank versus one Broadside suit.

XV88s can be taken in squads of 3, so that means those figures can be three times as likely to hit as the hammerhead ones. That means a penetrating hit from a squad of 3 Broadsides where none are aided by markerlight is a 93.75% chance.

3 squad sof 3 and you have no Falcons or Waveserpents by the beginning of turn 3. ;D

Not only that, but railguns are AP1 so there's no chance to clance. You better keep moving over 6"...
