Default Tau army concept

The idea behind the army is to pick off the enemy with Tau heavy weapons fire and use the variety of troops to work as a bulwark. This is my first 1500 point army, and I don't think it would work in practice but liked the concept.

Where'd you get current rules for Anghkor-Proc, I thought he was a Kroot hero from last ed. Like Kain said, where's the mandatory 1+ firewarrior unit? Which list are you using that lets the Gue'vesa take Plasma Rifles?

I'm not sure how well the list would work (something doesn't quite seem right about it) but it does look like a lot of fun to field.

Yeah you need the mandatory Firewarrior squad and Crisis Commander. I thought the list was very interesting... until the Heavy support showed up. Everything was auxiliary units and then three Tau Heavy choices? Kind of contrived.

For the concept army, take a C&C node Commander, six man Carbine FW squad, and only the Broadsides and Snipers. It'll be a bit more in theme, and legal...

I got the info on the Anghkor-Proc and the Gue'vesa from:

Also the Gue'Vesa I originally used were from Forge Worlds Imperial Armor Vol. 3. But they were slightly different and I liked these ones more. Also I thought that Angkor-Proc could be the used as the 1+ HQ unit, but I could have been mistaken.

I forgot about the mandatory 1+ firewarrior squad, oops. But that could be fixed.

It's not '1+ HQ unit' - you have to have 1+ Crisis Suit Commander, as stated in the codex. I don't remember if Farsight or Shadowsun could be used as the 1+ Commander, as it was a bit of a grey area when that came up in the past.

But otherwise, good to see someone using Anghkor Prok, haven't seen that in army lists for a long time =). The rules are there on the GW website, thus are still legal to use - though I guess you should let your opponent know about the non-codex unit.

Shadowsun fulfills the requirement while in the FAQ it says Farsight doesn't.

So, according to those rules, the Gue'vesa can take Pulse Rifles, not Plasma Rifles.
