Default FW Shas'uis or vespids?

Hey guys, just have a quick question. In my 1850 point list, what can be more usefull in general?

8 vespids w/strain leader (134 pts)

or an addition of 5 Shas'uis to my 5 FW squads
(with markerlights) (100 pts)

-thanks guys

Hard to say without seeing the rest of your list. In general though, my opinion would be take the vespids in a mech list, take the shas'uis and markerlights in a static one.

Realy? Vespid are actualy a good addition to a static/hybrid list as a assult unit counter. Light up a squad with markerlites, shoot at them with the vespid and charge them to tie them up.

Vespids, most definately! They make a great addition to any list when used correctly.

Vespids are devestating when used correctly, however, I'm not so sure I'd be relying on Ld7 with your FW if I were you.

As others have said, it's hard to say without seeing the rest of your list. You should post it and you will get more appropriate responses.

I'm not gonna count the points but my list is:

HQ:
1 Shas'o Commander

Elites:
2 Crisis Suits (tank hunters)

3 Crisis suits

3 Stealthsuits w/ marker drone

Troops:
x12 FW

x12 FW

x12 FW

x12 FW

x12 FW

Heavy:
9 sniper drones

hammerhead or ion tank

2 broadsides or another tank

fast: maybe vespids

or have the 12 person in FW squads be a Shas'ui

thanks guys

Throw in 2 Shas'ui with markerlights for 40 points and a Piranha with fusion, TA, and 2 seekers.

It's a nice compromise that adds functionality to the list it didn't posess before. You get some markerlights and you get a small fast scoring unit with an armor value launching sneaky side armor strikes after having boosted 24". Yeah thats fair. :shifty:

Be sure if you do this that you are careful to hide your lone Piranha and only launch seekers, and drones from out of LOS. This way you preserve it's 90 VP's and can get another 90 for getting on the objective/contest quarters with it if you are playing anything but alpha level missions.

If you really need to extend a skimmer wall with it or roast a piece of AV or instakill a T4 model with it, just try and take attention away from the Piranha with the rest of your army, pick your moment and use good positioning to avoid too much return fire, and keep that front armor facing the most dangerous threats.

Have fun and happy hunting!
