i have no idea, but i also cannot see why any one would spend that amount of money on a single orca let alone enough for an army!!

Do you have IA3, the rules are listed on page 207.

Heres a cool idea for fielding, Commander w/Positional Relay on board first turn, turn two roll for reserves, flier comes on during enemy's shooting (hope it survives) deploy army along its flight path, very limited as to what it can bring on board (check rules), would work great in the new game (apocalypse) for dropping a part of a Rapid Insertion Force behind enemy lines (good fluff Orca & Rapid Insertion Team behind enemy lines), but could do it cheaper with a pathfinder teams and deep striking them.

That's a novel idea...now I have a STRONGER urge to get a IA3, the Apocalypse rules, and an Orca.

Are you able to do that though? Drop fire warriors out the back of an Orca like paratroopers?

These firewarriors represent a very tip of the spear, first line of defense.Equipped with latest battlefield technology and trained in latest tactics of covered warfare they strike swiftly,silently,invisible.......

yeah i got IA3 but never use it buy in some ebay auction, but starting tau get me into it.......

Va'Ukos, Most models just jump out (XV25-XV8), but yes thats how they deploy, while the Orca moves along it's flight path, FW deploy as if departing from a Devilfish, then the Orca continues along its flight to next drop point. After reading the rules and it's load rate I'm strongly thinking of getting one or two now also.

Off the track a little bit but still concerning the Orca, FW has it listed at 275.00GBP = 550.00US, so took the cost of the XV8 at 8.00GBP off ebay, so at six suits thats 48.00GBP = 96.00US and drones 6.00GBP = 12.00US, so the actual cost for a Orca minis the suits and drones as far as fielding it would be 221.00GBP = 442.00US, plus having the ability to use the suits and the drones on the field of play makes the purchase price more acceptable.

It's a cool idea that can rival those of Space marines/Drop guard/Eldar. However, like most of these armies, you lose you most powerful/durable units such as hammerheads or basically anything with a railgun (broadsides are almost useless when dropped because they can't fire the turn they are deployed).

So you must compensate for that, like mazing out on tank-basting/MEQ-killing Crisis suits. Also, remember that the Orca is neither as durable or deadly as a Thunderhawk or Vampire Raider. So what out there.

give the broadsides an A.SS and you'll be fine with DSing and shooting. I do like this idea

Cheers!
