Excellent article, Calmsword!

When you have time, by any chance can I get those sources I requested through PM though? I'm still a little iffy on Barracuda "Recharge Times" (Specifically where it mentions the Barracudas are recharging the Sho'aun'or'es - not simply refueling), and the sources that say XV-1 Armor = Fire Warrior Armor.

Thanks!

---

Also, if you need any assistance with the Kor article, I'll be more than happy to assist. I've already made an extensive list of ranks and jobs over at ATT based on texts given in BFG and the most common sense applied at the time. ;D

I'm not sure about the statement that XV-1 is basic Tau armour. The units that use the XV-1 chassis - the XV-15 stealth suits - have a 3+ save, whereas Fire Warriors have a 4+ save. This isn't just a rules balance either, I'm sure. XV-15s even look tougher than Fire Warriors.

What's your reference for this? Also, the first paragraph on page 3 ends rather abruptly, and it looks like some text is missing.

i'll call you on one small mistake in article 2.

it says dozens of worlds fell during it, yet IIRC i remember there was mention of only 2 or 3 star systems, with no more than a half-dozen planets falling.

unless there is more written elsewhere that im unaware of...

it looks good though. well done.

None can step before them, they are the first, proud in their strength and jealous of their renown. Through the storms of the warp they come, upon the very tides of terror, but of such dangers they are uncaring. They are the Space Wolves, the Undefeated, the bane of the Emperor's foes."

Well if I recall correctly every sept includes more than a few planets and not all systems become septs right away, the Tau did manage to conquer dozens of worlds, how many formed into septs and how many were subsequently lost to the Imperium in their retributions I can't find a definitive statement.

And of course have a cookie calmsword +1!

Very nice, still the great work you keep producing.

Where did this come from? I've never seen this before. Just curious.

Even Tau that are put in positions of ultimate authority, like a

This doesn't seem right.... the Rank of Shas'O isn't something that can be given up, but the command of the 6th Vior'lan Cadre could be, once the campaign ended. At least thats the impression I got from Star.

Again, I don't want you to think I'm picking holes, I cannot stress how fantastic your work here is. It would be amazing for GW to officialise this (and charge £50 for the book :), and you have put in some amazing work.

Keep it up

In Kill Team, the Por'el liaison for the humans mentions that the mere concept of Tau killing other Tau is absolutely horrendous to the main bulk of the Empire, but certain ritual combats exist in the Fire Caste that sometimes ends in one participant's death.

I don't think he meant actually stepping down from his position of authority as a Shas'O, I think he meant stepping down from commanding a Coalition, for example, after the ground campaign to take the planet ended - relinquishing it to a Fio'O for construction/colony building efforts, or perhaps a Por'O to integrate and indoctrinate the existing population and infrastructure into the Empire.
