Default Diyng ethereal leadership

If a unit is mounted in a transport when an ethereal is killed, how does the leadership work?

IIRC they dont have to take a morale check.
Vehicles cant fall back and i dont think the firewarriors would dive out the back.

That would mean that sending an ethereal into combat at the start of the game, with only vehicles and FWs in DV's, then if the ethereal died your army would suddenly be very good in combat! It would be a bit of a waste, but ethereals aren't much good anyway.

Re-read the section on "Price of Failure". They only gain the Preferred Enemy special ability if they pass the Morale check when the Ethereal dies. If they're in a Transport, they don't take the check (and therefore haven't passed it) and don't gain Preferred Enemy.

Actually they don't even have to pass it, they just have to take it, but Tonka's point stands.
