Default Target Lock?

I'm a bit confused about how the Target Lock can be used on a lone Crisis Suit. Can you take a Target Lock and target two different models/units? As far as I know, an infantry model, even jump infantry, can't shoot at more than one model/unit.

A Target Lock is useless on a lone Crisis Suit.

That's what I thought, but I keep seeing postings here that show lone Commanders taking a Target Lock.

A commander could be fitted with a target lock since they can join up with other units. In this case the target lock can be used to target a different foe since he is now part of a bigger unit.

Ah, now that's different. A Commander with a Target Lock is actually a halfway decent idea. There you can join him to another unit (Pathfinders, Kroot, or Broadsides are all good choices), and can lend his leadership for Target Priority and Morale checks while simultaneously allowing them to benefit from his Accute Senses. In this case, the Target Lock allows your Commander to shoot at a different unit than the squad he's joined.

On a Monat Elite (who can't join other units), it's useless.
