If I had $1,500(ish):
1) Creating my own board game
2) Jeans
3) My education
4) Helping fund SCII if I must

I don't see "Manta" in any of those, so I'd have to say no ;D

If I had the money, without any saving, or need for anything else - literally someone in the street just gave me 800 to buy one, then:

HELL YEAH!

Something massive I could take ages over modelling, a awesome kit.

Nope, its a big piece of resin. Hobby is hobby but this is going a bit over with it.
Then again I would spend that much for good lens or camera ;p

If I could find a way to use it, but the Manta... I don't see how it could reasonably be used in a game no matter how large, the thing is just... massive.

Nope not me. If someone gave me a $1,700 giftcard to forgeworld I would buy an orca some tallarn stuff(for my gue'vesa guard army), maybe an XV89 or two or three, and/or some barracudas. But not a manta.

I would totally get one if I could and have to too show off and look pretty, but that would be in happy land where GW lowered prices and I didn't have to write papers.

In reality I would put the majority in saving, pay off a few debts to friends, and buy an iPod before taking my self out for a treat
