Default Tau Titan?

Any ideas on what would be a good Tau titan if you didn't want to use Kroot?

A giant Crisis Suit?

A land-Manta. >

If you mean Titan is in 'huge mecha', I'll go for somekind of giant Crisis Suit as you said.

A Manta.

Seriously, it's been done to death - Titans don't fit into the Tau way of war since they're slow, unmaneuverable, and too large to relocate when they have to disengage.

Tell that to the Eldar Revenant : . I don't think it got that memo.

Tau do not posess the experience or the technology to produce land-based mobile fortresses like titans. "Keep our fish flying" is almost a motto.

Having a warsphere, now that would be awesome: Giant spiky AV14 cannonball drops down on enemy, and procedes to open up with krootguns while carnivorous space chickens assault out at the enemy. > I would take that over a titan any day.

Yeah a Mech type is what I want.

Aren't broadsides slow?

I just like the Tau style models and would love to see a Titan type Mech Tau.

Yes, but the fit in an Orca or Manta, and can rapidly be re-deployed. Besides, they can hide in terrain, and are therefore ideal for a Kauyon. Try that with a Titan...

The Tau do not have the technology to make something as large as a Titan as agile as the Eldar do!

Also, I don't think they can apply stealth-field technology on such a large scale either... I mean, if they could... why don't they ever, even for a rare or specialized vehicle/spacecraft?

It would take 1 line in a codex or rule book to change that. "new prototype developed"

They have the new stealth suits and that commander shadowsun armor we never saw before.

Sadly, we don't have the technology, so we can't build it, or make it better... Plus, I will admit we use that prototype card a wee bit too much in my opinion. Unless we get assault cannons or ion cannons mass produced/invented for XV8's, then I think our research should slow down a tad (assault cannons would be so sexy on XV8's :).
In the DoW game I think there were stealth tanks...I'm not sure that it would be fair in gameplay though.

The Manta is all you need for a superheavy. It has tons of weapons, structure points, and storage capacity. It's the flying leatherman of the Tau!
