Default September new Codex

Ok... so I heard Tau's arn't getting any new codex book. all good by me.

But I got only 1 question ( I'm new at 40k and to the Tau ).

Where the hell are the rules for Human Aux., Sky Ray and the like? All units that arn't in the original Tau Codex? I've heard they were in Imperial Armour or Chapter Approved, not sure...

Anyhow, anyone could tell me how many books added units and rules for them beside IA and Chapter Approved? if those are the only ones well I get them anyway.

Lastly, can we play the Sky Ray in any games? And what about the Barracuda Fighter... and the "soon to have official rules" Orca, do you have to ask your opponent before playing them?

yeah ok thats more then 1 question but... gotta learn somewhere.... i guess... yeah...

rail rifle pathfinders > chapter approved
human auxilleries > chapter approved OR Gw website
sky ray + barracuda + orca + heavy gun drones + tau turrets + (anything else not in codex, cant remember them all) > forgeworld - imperial armour volume (1 or 2 :S)..

and besides IA and Chapter approved stuff, i dont know of any extra addon books for the codex..

orca has test rules, 2nd version of it..

hmm and about using forgeworld models (sky ray, barracuda, orca etc), im not sure about this, (theres another topic in general 40k on this i think) but you should be able to seeing as forgeworld is a subcompany or smt of GW.. but i guess it would be good sportsmanship to ask your oppenent before using them.. before they get owned.. hehe..

lol Thanks.

I noticed for the Orca, I'd never play that without asking I mean... ownage... anyhow, thanks for the informations! I hope they release some sort of "official compilation of rules for official 40k" with the new edition this september for all armies, sometimes I just loose myself. Lets hope the Turrets will make it through testing!

Incorrect on both.

IAvol1 is entirely devoted to the Imperial Guard.

IAvol2 is Space Marines, Sisters of Battle and Inquisition (including Grey Knights).

IAvol3 will probably be everyone else. If not, then IAvol4 will surely have the Tau...

Thanks all.

Though for the Forgeworld models, I'll get them anyway just to have the pleasure to Paint and Expose them after, playing with them isn't my priority.
